I had the fun opportunity to recently guest on this show - It was so much fun - of course that probably had a lot to do with the great people on the show (Noelle, Izzy and Nancy). I hope I can say we talked a bit about photo organization - don't worry- I will share a link when it comes out.
Today, after recording the show I was reflecting on what we all talked about and I thought I would share some thoughts...
Pretty much everyone has seen this photo - most will see her spinning counterclockwise and some will see her spinning clockwise - technically she isn't spinning... People say this shows if you are right brained or left brained - but in reality nothing like this could show that since neurologists say that we use so much of both sides of our brain together - it is difficult to test the dominant side with something as simple as this.
There are creatives who work well in chaos and know where everything is - in fact, if things are organized, it is harder to work. There are others who like to be organized to create.
I think I find myself in the latter category. Considering that when i have a creative block that working through a quick template to get started won't fix, I often find if I go and organize a closet or cupboard or my desk - or sometimes even my photos I can find my creative groove again.
Which makes me wonder if doing a logical brain dominant task reboots my creative brain? Who knows - I guess you shouldn't question it if it works. :)
So back to Paperclipping - it was fun - they are great and I can't wait until it airs. For digi girls - you need to check out this new show - I will be there next week as well. In the meantime you can catch some current fabulous episodes with some amazing guests and also pickup some fabulous tips.
Enjoy!
I just found your blog today through the Paperclipping podcasts. Great job on both, and I'm so glad to have found you. I feel like I should have already heard of you somehow, but through the PRT podcasts, I am learning so much about the industry.

I have really enjoyed the Paperclipping podcasts - both the digi and regular shows. I'm interested to know if you have tried Media Expressions software? If you do please let us know what you think. I'm terrible at organization. I've followed your videos on Bridge and the video is great but I'm still not crazy about the software. I'm anxious to have ACDSee for Mac but the release date seems to get put back each time a beta is released. I'm growing very impatient. I tend NOT to scrapbook because I find it difficult to find my stuff. I would love to finally get organized.
Thanks so much for your site. I appreciate all the work you have put into it.

I just downloaded it a week ago and played around with it and decided that for what I am doing, I can organize my digital supplies in Lightroom. I am testing the workaround I figured out right now - when I know that it will work for my collection I will share more here.
