    Saturday Scrap

LittledudeI had some fun yesterday putting this little layout together with the new Little Dudes Kit from Shabby Miss Jenn Designs.  I like this kit so much I am planning a theme album for my little guy entitled Joseph: Two & Terrific - seriously - the colors are perfect and the elements are fun.  Little boy kits are hard to be found and this one is right on target for scrapping the little guys... and big guys too...

While visiting Shabby Miss Jenn I also downloaded her new Poppies Kit - I am looking forward to playing with that as well. Her stuff is great and very reasonable.

The photos were taken this week using my Nikon D70 and Westcott Photo Basics Kit.  I am really enjoying using the kit to improve my photos - who knew studio lighting could make such a difference?

One thing I did with this layout was to change the Polaroid frame to match a paper.  The way I did this was to open the polaroid frame element in Photoshop.  Then I saved it under a different name.  I then opened my background paper of choice and dragged it over on top of the newly saved frame.  I then selected ALT-CTRL-G and voila' the frame was the color I wanted!  I for the journaling frame I cut a section of background paper  using the crop tool and then dragged it under the frame and resized it to fit.  It is not very conventional but I liked the effect.

The font I used was Plastique from dafont.com.  Speaking of fonts - I found a new site that definitely has a few fonts I would like to acquire - Veer - I think I had better stay away until tax time when the refund comes - lol.  No, seriously, there are some great fonts out there but they cost around $40-$70 each.  I have my eyes on three - but will have to wait until I can justify the expense!

Another really cool thing I found this week  is the Digishoptalk website - a really neat place where you can find out just about anything you want to know about the digital scrapbooking community.  So go check it out.  I joined with their gold membership because it gives you 12 free kits for the year - a great deal.

I am off with my family for some Saturday fun.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
