A friend emailed me this inspiring pic last year and it has been somewhat a theme for me ever since. I've been taking it one room at a time and sometimes one closet or cupboard! I am also making progress in my computer - taking it one project at a time and then sharing with you.
I'm happy to report a few milestones. In addition to starting up class this week, I finished painting a few rooms on the main floor of my house and even moved my office! This year I am really focused on creating a home - making the space in our house work for our familiy and what we do. A couple of hours here, a couple of hours there and what one can accomplish! Wow.
I am learning flow. Over time I have found that when I work on a project on my computer (i.e. organizing digital supplies) I often need to move from that to a physical project (organizing a closet, cupboards, etc.) So on Monday I'll move back to my computer working on the photo side of things.
Hopefully those of you following my Lightroom class are finding yourself accomplishing your own happy milestones. Getting everything into Lightroom and converting files is one of the biggest hurdles - I hope the information I've provided is helpful and you all find an amazingly easier workflow at the end of your journey!
Speaking of the Lightroom class, I just updated the class outline on the master page. There are a few new links to older posts that you all might enjoy you can find it here. While there, you can also get a sneak peek of other posts to come in the photo organization and editing modules. Lots of good information to help you learn Lightroom.
Also, another weekend happy place - if you enjoy quotes, check out this Pinterest page - love it! I used to collect signs like this - but ack the clutter!! I love that the digital age allows me to "collect" copies of the things that inspire me with only a few 0's and 1's on my computer hard drive...
I've got to run - I have a playroom to put together and a basement craft/sewing room to organize before tonight. You should see the piles of stuff I've created to donate and sell - wow! But it feels so great to be lighter and moving forward with less! My mantra for this year, "Have less, do less, be more."
Tomorrow I'll completely unplug from all my projects and enjoy some downtime with my family. Monday morning I'll be back to the digital side of things working on my photos.
What keeps you in the flow and away from burnout? Any fun plans for the weekend? Please do share in the comments. Hopefully whatever you're doing is a great one!
Hi Kayla - house chores are finally done, I'm finishing up on dinner fixings (meatloaf & mashed potatoes), then it's ME time! I'm soooo looking forward to sitting down with a nice hot cup of decaf, my head phones and you! ;-) Tonight is my night to play! Tomorrow is church and more playtime. WOO HOO!!!!! Take Care! -c-

I recently went through my house and did the same, thanks to simplify101.com. Aby is great! Best of luck to you with this project; it will be so worth it!
I'm really enjoying the class. I have everything converted and imported. I was using Picasa before and LR actually retained the tags I had. Since I could see everything so easily (supplies AND photos), I had some time to get a page done. So excited!
